Surprises at AO

The first couple of days were not great for American players. On women’s side, Venus Williams lost the first round against Belinda Bencic. US Open winner Sloane Stephens lost in three sets against Zhang Shuai of China. Coco Vandeweghe showed disrespectful behavior while losing to Hungarian player Timea Babos. After having great US Open, Australian Open showed as a complete disaster for most of the American players.

Rafa, Roger, and Novak all cruised through their first-round matches. It seems they are all ready to compete for the title. Novak changed his serve motion to better cope with elbow problems and it seems not to affect the speed. Rafa and Roger are also looking to be in top fitness shape.
