Istomin Overthrows Djokovic

Thursday started with surprise of the tournament when 30 year old Denis Istomin (ranked 117 ATP) beat Novak Djokovic in fifth set 6-4. We all knew that Djokovic is not the same player that won Australian Open 2016 but we did not expect him to lose 2nd round. Everyone was actually more concerned of his being able to overcome Fernando Verdasco in the first round. Upset of the tournament for sure!

On the women’s side Lucic-Baroli upsets Radwanska in two sets 6-3 and 6-2.

In night session Serena is playing Safarova and Nadal against Baghdatis.
