Forehand Short Court Warm Up Drill

It is very important to start with short court when warming up. This gives you the feel for the ball and you are also less likely to injury yourself. In this drill I am playing with one of my junior students, Emily and we are hitting short court diagonally.

Pay attention to the following points:

  • Make sure that you move back to the middle after hitting your forehand (at least few steps)
  • When moving back towards the middle cross step to save time
  • Use topspin, no flat forehands
  • Do not try to hit the ball with power, your grip has to be lose
