Serve Drill Moving Back

With this serving drill we are trying to improve our serve motion by hitting up on the ball more. This way we also force ourself to generate more topspin/kick on the ball by hitting up.

  1. Set up 6 cones going diagonally from the center of the court on the baseline towards the fence.
  2. Start serving at the baseline and then move back
  3. Hit approximately 5-10 serves at each cone
  4.  By the time you reach the last cone you will realize that your serves are bouncing higher up and have more topspin.
  5. Also your serve motion is becoming better, by you reaching up instead of forward.
