Garcia-Lopez Warm-Up Routine

This video is taken at Umag ATP Tournament. We can see Spanish player doing his regular warm-up practice before the afternoon match. As you can see player starts hitting at a slower pace, therefore getting into the rhythm gradually. This is important note especially for junior and club players, which tend to start hitting at the higher pace without getting consistency first.

  • Start hitting short court warm up for 5-10 minutes
  • Progress to baseline and hit down-the middle for 10 minutes
  • Hit at 40-50% of your rally speed for first 5 minutes (baseline) and then slowly progress to 70%, but never your full pace in the warm-up routine.
